Tape Storage Racking
TMS uses specialist Gemtrac computer tape media racking for our tape storage. This ensures that tapes can be stored in their own individual slot to ensure file integrity and to guarantee that each cartridge is safely housed, neatly organized and protected from dust and light.
Individual tape slot storage is a requirement of AS3636.4
The Gemtrac racks are are constructed of heavy-duty furniture grade steel, each Gemtrack consists of two self contained opposing cabinets linked by overhead tracks engineered to safely suspend heavy loads.
With a small footprint of 8 metres and facing pull-out drawers, one Gemtrac unit will store up to 4,060 LTO (Linear Tape Open) data cartridges stored in a case.
